Maya De La Torre

Maya De La Torre is a Los Angeles-based actor, singer, and playwright currently performing in ¡Sí Se Puede! at Center Theatre Group. She holds a BA in Musical Theatre and English from California Lutheran University and an MA in Classical Acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Prior to her time in London, she trained at the National Theatre Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center, where she began her standing as a Miranda Family Fellow.

As a playwright, she has been a member of PlayGround-LA’s Writer’s Pool for the past two seasons, with her plays Make Believe and Sugar and Spice having received staged readings. The former was awarded the People’s Choice Award. You can also find her short play, The Tamalada, published with Kinsmen Avenue Publishing.

You can usually find her monologuing to herself in the car, stress baking cookies, or coming up with convoluted schemes for her DND characters.
